Domaine de la Mordorée - La Reine Des Bois Lirac 2006 (750ml) WoodNot quite the superb value this was in earlier vintages, the 2006 Queen of the Woods is still an excellent wine, from its knockout nose of cedar, baking spices, blueberry and black cherry to its full, rounded mouthfeel and long, softly tannic finish. Tasted again several months later, the oak is less apparent, suggesting at last five years or so of aging potential.
in the mouth the wine blooms with black plum
This plot has a clay-limestone soil that gives the vines a good regularity of production and quality
Smooth layers of flowers
with floral nuances and essences of apple
Along with a light hint of mocha and vanilla
fine and harmonious with the right acidity and good structure
Their son Guilhem Tournier created his own estate "Château Guilhem Tournier" in 2004 and is now fully certified organic and he uses biodynamic methods
Like walking into a floral conservatory in full bloom of white citrus and jasmine
with ripe tannins and marvellous structure
The silky tannins and vibrant acidity lead to a crisp
Very fresh and balanced with a subtle bitter touch in the aftertaste
Site is therefore crucial
