Rijckaert 'Bien Elevé' Aligoté Mâcon 2022 no-wrapinThis Aligot is from the Mconnais, drawn from 60 year old vines, and is aged in large oak barrels, hence the cuve name 'Bien Elev,' which means 'well raised' in French. It's a relatively serious example of the variety with a bit more body than most, along with notes of ripe white stone fruits, green and yellow apple, and a hint of the oxidative quality of the barrels. Poised and fancy for a "lesser" white variety in Burgundy.
