Forge Cellars - Caywood Chardonnay 2022 (750ml) OportoA crush of stone and earth on the nose leads to zesty lemon, lime and white grapefruit flavours in this vibrantly honed expression of Caywood Vineyard, a historic Seneca lake site planted in the early 1970s. Produced by Rick Rainey and Louis Barruol (of Chteau de Saint Cosme in Gigondas), its a thrillingly svelte, concentrated sip with a laser point, steely finish.

Found almost exclusively in Umbria

Made in the same iconic style as The Prisoner Red Blend

The intense and complex bouquet does not betray the taste

The nose expresses all the character of the Pinot Noir rosé opening with an intense floral notes of rose and wild strawberry

generous but fresh fruit with a pithy

Though balanced

has gained in freshness and ripe

it’s a perfect companion for both sweet and spicy dishes…or simply on its own

it rests on the full lees for two years before bottling
