1987 / 1988 Tach LCD Light Diffuser TorxDiffusers broken or melted? Ours aren't! These clear plastic panels act as a light pipe, carrying light from the bulbs to the information areas of the LCDs. Unfortunately, the factory bulbs generate too much heat, and eventually melt the diffusers in the area where they surround the bulbs. Melted, bubbled or discolored diffusers can result in an image that's half as bright as one with proper, clear diffusers! It's also common for the small mounting
