Fruit notes, if any, were largely overcome by the powerful, artificial rubber and leather nose. Mediocre palate of shy plum and berries that feels rustic. With clean acidity and mild tannins, it performed adequately to wash down the succulent lamb shank I was feasting on. Hardly a darling, this Malbec was no ponderous material but

toffee and chocolate

toasty sweet vanilla finish with fine

and bright red with aromas of black currants

persistent pinpoint bubbles rising in delicate strands to the surface of the wine
